For Single-Family Homes

Smart-E is a multi-measure home loan that finances more than 40 clean energy and energy efficiency improvements including renewable heating & cooling, solar, electrical vehicle chargers and energy storage. There is also a credit challenged version of the loan for credit-challenged customers.

Battery Storage for Residential and Commercial Customers

Energy Storage Solutions is a new incentive program designed to help customers install energy storage for their home or business. Energy Storage Solutions will help lower the cost of buying a battery by providing an upfront incentive. Incentives are available for batteries paired with solar PV systems, as well as standalone batteries. Energy Storage Solutions will help create a more reliable, resilient Connecticut, especially for vulnerable communities and those hit hardest by storm-related outages.

For Municipal, Commercial, Multifamily, and Non-profit Buildings

Green Bank Solar PPA: The Green Bank Solar Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) allows building owners to experience the benefits of solar energy without the responsibility of owning or maintaining a solar PV system. Learn more.


Solar Roof Lease: With a solar roof lease, a roof’s unused space becomes a revenue-producer when working with the Green Bank to install a solar PV system. Leasing a building’s roof space means a reliable, worry-free tenant who puts lease payments in a building owner’s pocket. Learn more.


Municipalities can receive additional support through the Solar Municipal Assistance Program (Solar MAP) which provides no-cost technical assistance to identify opportunities for onsite solar, develop projects that will deliver energy savings, and provide flexible financing options.

Permitting for Renewable Energy

Technical Assistance: The Connecticut Green Bank provides recommendations and resources for improving rooftop solar PV permitting developed from research conducted by the Connecticut Rooftop Solar Challenge team. These suggestions are consistent with the SolSmart designation program, leading municipalities throughout the nation to improve solar PV permitting processes.
